Crazy Man

Crazy man

That’s what he said

In admiration, not degradation

As she rounded the corner

I heard a noise and looked over

Jim was on the ground clutching his head

Thunderstruck

Too small a word

Knocked himself out on a telephone pole

First time he saw her

Wham

That’s commitment

Enchantment

Instant pain

Which continued for years as Jim jousted

Contested

Fought for her attention

Which was only partly given

Never driven

By love

Which drove Jim crazy

Man
