Small Thoughts

Small thoughts tumble

In my washing machine mind

Small doubts and anxious moments

Share the load

I don’t use softener today

Just wait for the spin cycle

Then I’ll hang them out

On a backyard line

To be scoured by the wind

Then put away

In the dark

Where small thoughts belong
