I pat my pocket and discover emptiness
Anxious panic takes off like worried pigeons
When I realize I left my phone at home
With a wry smile I laugh at myself for this modern disorder
Separation anxiety for a missing smartphone
The pigeons return
When I revel in the brief freedom of disconnection
