Daylight was sticking around
Like that awkward guy at the party
A little heavy and ponderous
Not very colorful at all
Kind of withdrawn
Encountering the late twilight of early spring is surprising
Like meeting an old girlfriend
Falling for her like before
I’d forgotten how beguiling you are, I’d say
Remembering the quick fade to black of winter
I’ll see you tomorrow then, she’ll smile
It’s a date
