I like the transiency of chalk art
inhabiting the same space
as Tibetan sand mandalas
impermanent as sunshine
or that look
you almost gave me
over your shoulder
parting
with a tug
that says
I’ll be here
until it rains

Ohhhhh, I have a new favorite of yours now…
Thanks Susan – I so appreciate your approbation.
David, one thing I would do is consider changing
stick around
until it rains
to
I’ll be here
until it rains
…but both work beautifully.
I like your suggestion, editing!
Just adds to the impermanence. Beautiful poem!
