Chimes

Christmas shopping is no party

At least there doesn’t seem to be any dancing in these grim line-ups

Lots of chimes at the till

A festive ringing marking the triumph of crass

While worried hands search for emergency credit cards in cracked wallets

To add more debtload

More stuff we don’t really want to buy

But do, feeling obligated

Even though these gifts will be forgotten soon enough

It’s a wrap
