premonition

ragged footsteps of falling leaves

disconcert a premonition that lands

obliquely, out of reach

remaining an undisclosed foreshadow

dislodged but deep downed

where I do not look

except peripherally

my undoing is always curiosity

some answers

are not worth the questions

Haiku – September 27

standing here hill still

stalked by a premonition

of movement to come
